A note about forward facing child seats: Studies have shown that children should remain in a rear facing child seat for as long as possible, even to age two and beyond.     I had in the past ordered one of the Recaro Start boosters, and really enjoyed all the high-tech safety that it offered, although I never really used the speaker system, which I guess is the big reason it costs so much. So, when I needed to order a booster for my sister, I decided it might be worth trying the new Vivo model. When the seat arrived, I was surprised at how light it was, and how easy everything was to install into the car. I had worried that since it was the cheapest of the Recaro seats that it would feel cheap too, but the plastics are all very high-quality, and the cover is soft and well assembled. It definitely belongs to the same line of products as the Start, and seems like a steal at $99. Now I wish that the Vivo was available when I bought my seat, since the Vivo works just as well, but is lighter and more affordable (since it doesn't have the speakers). I definitely recommend this seat to parents looking for a booster! (Posted on 8/25/09)
